Who would you really like to meet?
Yes, a real living person with a name – so not a description – like, ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’. Anyway I’m married to her.
Do you have the name of the person?
Have you ever tried to meet this person?
My assumption is the majority of people reading this article not only never tried to meet this person, the fact is they came up with the name about a minute ago when I asked for the name of the person they would like to meet!
So take a minute and really consider who you would like to meet.
Okay so write out the name – email the name to yourself. Do a Google search on the person so it’s in your search history.
Now have you heard of Six Degrees of Separation?
It’s the theory that any person in the world can be connected to any other person in the world through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries.
Maybe you have played the Kevin Bacon game? Where the objective is to connect any actor to Kevin Bacon in six steps or less.
What we are going to do is go from you to the person you want to meet the same way. Understand that this won’t work at all if you don’t try. Now here’s a thought on how to give yourself a real jumpstart.
Of course you can go and mention to one person, like Uncle Phil, “hey, Uncle Phil, I’d really like to meet Deion Sanders, can you help me with that?” This assumes you want to meet Deion Sanders. And unless Uncle Phil does a lot of networking is he able to help out?
However, what if you had access to a network?
A unique network that has a motto that ‘givers gain’ and ‘what goes around comes around’? Now all of a sudden you have increased your chances and reach tremendously.
So if there’s someone you really want to meet, let’s connect and you will explain to me why it’s so important for you meet this person.
