How do you feel about trust?
This article is about you – it’s about us!
If I asked you to take a moment right now and write down ten people who you trust with your life, in other words with just about anything – quickly write down ten names.
Now flip the page and write down ten names of people who you know would write down your name if they were asked the same question of them – the first question I asked you.
Did you name even five people on either list?
The people you named have you ever once said to them, “You know I trust you with my life, with just about anything.” Why don’t you tell them?
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”
– Steve Jobs
There are many of us who do not even trust ourselves.
Is it fear or is it something else. How about you? Do you trust yourself? What are your values? Would you keep them even when no one is looking?
“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”
– Golda Meir
Once we each do trust ourselves it does really become possible to trust others.
Yes, when we have been burned by trusting one person, it is more difficult to trust again. We must overcome this fear to move ahead.
“I believe if you keep your faith, you keep your trust, you keep the right attitude, if you’re grateful, you’ll see God open up new doors.”
– Joel Osteen
It is our own choice to believe or not to believe. Further it is our own choice to determine what we each believe. From my perspective Joel’s words speak volumes. What do you think?
“If people like you, they’ll listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.”
– Zig Ziglar
