What are you reading this summer?
Afterall there’s nothing like enjoying a great story while relaxing in a beach chair by the ocean. The steady calming sound of the waves coming in, the nice ocean breeze keeping you refreshed and the pages of the book seem to fly by.
If the location at the beach isn’t your thing that’s okay!
Maybe you like to relax at a park, or by a lake, or off of a hiking trail on a mountain – any and all of these will do the trick.
The important thing is to take the time to read.
The summer months are the time to turn off the electronic devices and disconnect from our usual habits.
We all need to allow the time to reconnect to ourselves and to refresh our mental and physical bodies. Our human bodies are beautifully crafted and given the proper environment to refresh, repair and rejuvenate it will.
Now in terms of reading do you enjoy an actual paper page turning book, reading from a kindle or an ipad or a bit of each? My wife and I do both, that is read from a device and read from a paper page turning book.
Truth be told we actually go to the library and borrow books to read and return them. Never fear Amazon Prime we still purchase many books through you too!
The stresses we have on us throughout our daily lives keeps us tense. In the summer we are more relaxed. Think of your years in school, in the summer your brain was given the chance to relax. The pressure of an upcoming exam or a deadline is not present.
So now is the chance to read and learn about different places, cultures and people. Read about their experiences and behaviors.
Which brings me to the question of what are you reading this summer? Let us all know so we may share what we’re all reading.
Subscribers to my newsletter are sent a book suggestion from what I’m currently reading.
Whatever you are planning to do this summer include doing some reading.
