One thing for certain every seaman does is count the days.
Once their ship sets out to sea – how many days until they return?
How many days do they need to stay aboard the ship to work to fulfill their obligation?
On a long International voyage – how many days until the next port?
“Travel brings power and love back into your life.” Rumi
Meanwhile back at home there is family missing their presence too.
Here are a few thoughts for the family and the seaman to think about in their loneliness…
We chose this. We live this. We can do this.
When I’m with you, hours feel like seconds…when we’re are apart, days feel like years.
Distance means nothing when someone means everything.
The ritual is either first thing in the morning to place the X on the day before on the wall calendar or to place the X on the date at the end of that day before hitting the sack. The most difficult part is missing family.
Here are a few more things to think about when away.
Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile & who love you no matter what.
Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is family. Having both is a blessing.
There are two gifts we should give our children. One is roots, the other is wings.
Most of us have been on shore and have been with and shared space with our families more than ever before.
If you have a business – a career – a job – what is your plan?
Now let me ask you this – you have to know – once it’s September it’s the home stretch for the year. This year is one for the record books in so many ways. Everyone knows that!
What are you going to do in the next 112 days? You have to be intentional and have a plan. It has to be bigger than just putting an X through a date on the wall calendar.
Share your intentions in the comments. Would you like to review your thinking on this? In essence have a ‘thinking partner’ conversation for twenty minutes? No cost. No pitch.
All for you.
Here’s the thing – in 112 days you can make your year or at the very least set yourself up for the next year. Let’s connect and have a chat.
