How Do You Navigate Uncharted Seas?

Although this Month the general topic will be around the International Rules of the Road. There are certain times where you are in ‘uncharted seas’.

How Do You Navigate Uncharted Seas?

These ‘uncharted seas’ represent situations where others have not navigated before.

If you are not familiar, the Bermuda Triangle, section of the North Atlantic Ocean off North America in which more than 50 ships and 20 airplanes are said to have mysteriously disappeared.  https://www.britannica.com/place/Bermuda-Triangle

When transiting these waters by ship, the seaman aware of the stories often wonder if something will happen to them. Sure some say these are myths. Meanwhile actual ships and their crew are missing.  No wreckage or the typical items you would find from a ship wreck were ever found.

Today, this week, right now, there is COVID-19.

There is fear. There is panic. In the USA we all trust the Government will handle the situation in an orderly manner.  They will facilitate the testing process, the cure and how to stop the spread of the virus.

A few in the news world are looking into where this virus started and how did it spread unnoticed. A large number of news media folks are actually fanning the flames of fear bordering on hysteria with their story telling reporting.

Recently the sports industry has reacted by suspending, canceling or banning fans from various events.

Schools of all levels are being closed.

Fights have erupted in stores over the last rolls of toilet paper.

Many companies have told their employees to remain home. Conduct their work as much as possible from home.

The question I ask of business owners is how will you respond?

The thought for people who are seeking a job is – is this effort navigating ‘uncharted seas’ for you?

When is the last time you looked for a job?
