Did you know there are opportunities to either live in a lighthouse or own the land, sometimes an island, that houses a lighthouse?
Imagine the views!
There are often certain rules and things you must agree with. These often keep a lot of people away from this type of arrangement. Meanwhile, most people are unaware of these opportunities.
Okay, OK! You want to know – what rules and stipulations would me and my family have to deal with?
After all, it’s a fairly private and isolated existence.
You asked for it.
One of the most common is to care for and maintain the lighthouse.
This is everything, soup to nuts. From painting the exterior and interior to the electrical, lighting, battery backup and generator backup. Any lawn or gardening upkeep as well.
By handling all of this you probably get the best price deal. Otherwise a fall back to it is a permanent easement to permit servicing by authorized personnel a few times a year more or less to handle the care and maintenance of the lighthouse.
This basically means strangers coming and going on their schedule. They are required to notify you, however, well you know how that goes.
Yet, oh those views!
Some of the highlight photos of tourists and vacationers on the coasts are of lighthouses! You would be able to live there. All of the time!
The question is – would you do it?
In the comments area here let us all know why? Yes or No.
Enjoy your weekend!
