The first time I attended a Rolling Stones concert was on July 4,1978.

The show was held at Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, NY just outside of Buffalo. My general Admission ticket cost $12.
By the time the Stones came on stage the four of us were standing on the field about twenty yards from the stage.
In the mid-1990’s I attended two more Rolling Stones events. These were in East Rutherford, NJ at the Meadowlands currently called MET Life.
On Tuesday, June 11, 2024 my wife and I went to see The Rolling Stones concert at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.
While making the decision to attend we had heard and read how good their performances have been so far on this the Hackney Diamonds Tour.
Mick Jagger at 81 years old, Keith Richards at 80 years old and Ronnie Wood at 76 years old and AARP as a co-sponsor of their tour – really, no joke – had us thinking “is this going to make us sad going to see and hear these guys?”
Forty six years since the Rich Stadium event!
Plus the Rolling Stones first played in Philadelphia in 1965 in a convention center in West Philly with the Herman’s Hermits!
A whopping 59 years ago!
Plus Charlie Watts was no longer the main percussionist as he died on August 24, 2021. One of the main Rolling Stones as the drummer since 1963.
We entered the venue hopeful and excited. After all this was going to be The Rolling Stones!

Right from the first song “Start Me Up” all the way two hours later to the encore “Satisfaction” they were absolutely amazing to watch, listen to and dance with. Steve Jordan at the drums more than fit in.
All of the musicians like bass player Daryl Jones and vocalists were outstanding. Plus Chanel Haynes voice is still in my head.
