Have You Ever Hit The Bullseye?

Have You Ever Hit The Bullseye? Many people play darts at home or in a bar. The target dart board is set up properly such that the bullseye is 5 ft. 8 inches from the floor and the front of the dart board to the toe line is 7 ft. 9.25 inches.

These are the official heights and distances.

This is why you feel so great when you hit the bullseye. The same exact rules for setting up the dart board are utilized everywhere that darts are a serious game.

Not everyone hits the bullseye.

In fact some people have never hit the bullseye. Some people never will hit the bullseye. Now imagine for a moment that the dart board is moving. How difficult would it be to hit the bullseye now? It is not moving in a rhythmic motion to allow you to possibly time it. No, it is moving erratically and there is no way to predict it’s movements.  The ability to hit the bullseye now is pure luck.

How is this any different from not setting goals for your business and your life? Without setting goals there is no target. It is similar to the erratic movements of the dart board as the bullseye is never in one place as it may change at any time for no reason at all.

This is not to say you will hit your goals every single time.

The chances of hitting your goals are increased tremendously by setting goals and regularly reviewing your goals vs. where you are now.

In order to get somewhere you must have destination. This is the main point of why goals must be set. It is where you are heading. It permits you to measure your progress toward the goal. And it allows you to make adjustments as necessary in order to stay on track toward the goal.

If anyone ever asks you – ‘why set goals, it is a waste of time’.

You should ask them if they ever tried to hit the bullseye on a moving dart board. Do you want to increase your odds of achieving your goals?

Contact Mitch and set up a call to discuss where you are going and how you plan to get there.
