Do you know a billionaire?
Okay maybe everyone does.
Do you know a billionaire who then went bankrupt?
Ah, not so much now. Okay then how about this one.
Do you know a billionaire, who then went bankrupt and then became a billionaire again?
Finally, now I have your attention.
In each of these cases my answers are – yes, yes and yes.
In fact for a few of these and through various methods of working together we have become friends.
No – I am not a billionaire – not even close.
We connect on the phone, through social media and once in awhile as their schedule and my schedule align we meet for a meal and conversation.
What are some of the habits of people who become billionaires?
What are some of the habits of a billionaire who then goes bankrupt?
What are some of the habits of a billionaire who then goes bankrupt and then becomes a billionaire again?
Guess what? There are at least three habits anyone may begin to utilize immediately. Each of these habits will improve your results and over time and when all three habits become part of your consistent behavior pattern your results will dramatically improve.
No one can guarantee you will become a billionaire.
However, wouldn’t we all be better served to understand the habits of people we know who are by many measures considered to be successful and make these habits our own?
Three Habits Of A Person Who
- became a billionaire
- then went bankrupt
- then became a billionaire again
#1 – They know who they are – they are not full of themselves.
In fact each one really knows their top two or three areas they are best at – their superpowers – and these are what they concentrate on. Everything else is where they find others who excel where they do not. They surround themselves with the best people who they connect with who are really great in the areas where they know they are not the best in.
#2 – Each one is a voracious reader.
A long flight is utilized for reading, writing and visioning. Understands the importance of self-improvement and recognizes there is always more to learn and grow.
#3 – Every single one makes the effort to meet and expose themselves to all types of people.
Meet people from different cultures. Meet people from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Intentionally meet all types of people. One way to insure this takes place is to strive to provide service to others on a regular basis – not just write a check – in person actions and activities which are meaningful to them and to those they are serving.
Bonus Habit Of A Person Who
- became a billionaire
- then went bankrupt
- then became a billionaire again
Bonus – They learn to fail.
They are willing to fail. They are willing to risk failure. They recognize that failure is not the end – it is often the beginning.
It is my hope you will strive to make each of these habits part of your own behavior pattern. The bonus habit may be the most difficult to embrace. It may be the most rewarding of them all.
Let me know how you make out as you move along this path.
