Would you freeze or take action?
If something totally unexpected, even shocking to think about, happened in your sphere – life, business, or even walking down the street – how do you think you will react?
It’s not something we really think about is it?
Right away most of us assume this would be a physical, stressful event – like being accosted or attacked – however it may be a social threat such as angry faces or sneers aimed and directed at us.
Remain calm there’s nothing wrong with you!
The majority of people who have a real freeze response find that it’s not a conscious decision.
This reaction is due to our primitive brain taking over and essentially immobilizing us. This is nature protecting us from a predator. When we freeze it’s assumed the predator will lose interest and wander away.
This is in the category of fight and flight responses.
There are specialized groups who undergo specific training in order to control their nervous systems, emotional and physical reactions in order to function in a variety of stressful situations. Think emergency rooms in hospitals, special forces operators such as US Navy SEALS and others.
Their first step is to recognize the signs in their own body, the signals being sent, and to control these with breathing techniques and mental focus on the specifics causing these reactions.
At this point their specialized training is kicking in and taking over the mental and physical reactions and actions.
All of this is taking place in milliseconds.

What my question to you is – if the stuff hits the fan, what’s your contingency plan?
What’s your Plan B? What’s your Plan C?
Oh and what if the stuff is in a bucket and it pours on your head while you’re walking down the street? Or dumped on you when you first wake up in the morning before you even get out of bed?
Have you considered your own contingency plans?
Your situational Plan B, Plan C and so on?
My hope for you is this at the very least gets you to start thinking about it.
