Our focus and our values are guiding lights for our lives.
Like a lighthouse guiding a ship at night from the sea to port. It’s not that these are forever in cement never to be changed or adjusted. However, careful thought and consideration must be given before that happens. Your focus and values have to remain true to you and more important you to them.
This isn’t always easy.
There will always be outside influences and distractions which will test your ability to remain true to your values and remain in focus to your achieving your desired outcomes.
Everyone has choices and options they make.
Depending on the personal situation you are in these choices may not appear as clear and obvious as they might to someone else. They are able to look through a lens from the outside looking in. Rather than from the inside looking within and to the outside.
How risk averse you are certainly has an impact as well. Are you willing to do what it takes to make one choice or another, or choose instead to remain in the status quo?
You think subconsciously – Isn’t less change easier?
Each of us may think of a Steve Jobs or a Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg or another person we deem successful, and think there are things we think about and have thought about that could be that good! Yes this idea or that idea! What do we do with that thought or idea? Really?
Right, nothing.
Why?
When did you first hear the phrase – Don’t Rock The Boat?
All through our lives we have repeatedly heard phrases and words which intentionally or unintentionally have imbedded in all of us certain thinking about what we need to do and how we must think.
If you were to analyze where fears of risk, avoidance of change and more come from, it is from our earliest age into our formative years.
These outside influences have shaped all aspects of our thinking and behavioral processes. Even as a young toddler before beginning to speak we were able to hear. We absorbed the sounds we heard.
The great news is you are a human. In nature we are unique in our ability to think differently, behave in a new way and create new habits. If this interests you contact me here and we will set up a one on one call – just the two of us.
Talk with me.
Let me know what you’re thinking is.
