Do you remember Chuck Norris?
There was a period of time where teenagers could not get enough Chuck Norris.
In fact, there may be some who still can’t get enough Chuck Norris. Maybe some who are no longer teenagers!
For those not in the know –

Chuck Norris
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Carlos Ray Norris (born March 10, 1940) is an American martial artist, actor, film producer and screenwriter. After serving in the United States Air Force, he began his rise to fame as a martial artist, and has since founded his own school of fighting, Chun Kuk Do.
Norris appeared in a number of action films, such as Way of the Dragon, in which he starred alongside Bruce Lee, and was The Cannon Group‘s leading star in the 1980s.[3][4] He played the starring role in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger from 1993 until 2001.
There were T-shirts, signs to hang up on the wall, cups, glasses, hats and more.
They usually started out with an imprint with something like this –
“Things You Need To Know About Chuck Norris”
Then the list of things you need to know would be listed.
Everything from –
“Chuck Norris counted to Infinity Twice!” to “The Chief Export of Chuck Norris is Pain!” (originally from – Chuck Norris, Top Kick Productions)
You get the drill. Now to most of us this was a fad our teenagers went through.
Let’s clearly define a fad –
Fad – Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fad
A fad, trend or craze is any form of collective behavior that develops within a culture, a generation or social group and which impulse is followed enthusiastically by a group of people for a finite period of time.
In the world of marketing fads are intentionally created or at least attempted to be created around certain events or time of the year – back to school – holiday shopping – January “Lose Weight Get Fit”, all by example, these are regular fad opportunities for a variety of products or services.
Here is the question: Would you want to create a fad for your product or service to get noticed in this busy world?
Now by definition a fad is going to end and may even have a short-term life.
On the other hand, it is a way to get noticed and have people learn about you and what product you sell or what services you offer. Which would you choose? Feel free to go right now to the comments section and write in you answer and why you feel this way.
Back now?
The point is many of us are spending a lot of time and more money seeking the magic fairy dust that easily brings us the success we desire in whatever we are doing. It is a fact if more of this time, effort and money were spent on learning, growing and marketing our product or service and being World Class at what we offer – in other words – Work At Our Craft – we would each succeed our goals every single time!
It is your decision of course to create a fad or to concentrate on your value.
There is a tremendous amount of competition in the marketplace for everyone. Quick fixes and magical solutions are very tempting for all of us. Remember the words which are true so often: “If It Sound Too Good To Be True, It Probably Is To Good To Be True”!
Another proven statement to consider is “Two Minds Are Better Than One” – This is a fact!
When you determine you are alone either in the corner office or running your own business and there is no one else to turn to consider your choices – wait for Chuck Norris to appear
OR Work with an experienced business coach
Which would you choose?
