Here it is… the countdown to the end of the year. The last three months of the year are here upon all of us.
Do you have a plan? What is your plan?
Most people will say something along these lines –
“The same plan we always use, get more clients and sales, increase revenues!”
Or
“A plan? Who has a plan?”
Okay, let’s use this as an overall plan –
- Finish the Year Strong
- Become a Better Leader
- Give Without an Expectation of a Return to Self
Now let’s go deeper into each of these…
Actually before starting this deeper look – obtain your calendar – book two consecutive days in the last two weeks of December with four hour time blocks of time each day to plan your 2019 goals for personal and business.
Let’s now get into the deeper dive into the three concepts for exceptional results in the last three months of this year.
Finish The Year Strong
A big idea which needs to be brought down to earth in order to become actionable and measurable.
For example: Increase sales as compared to Fourth (4th) Quarter last year or the Third (3rd) Quarter this year by 20%. Now in this example there is a set numerical target to aim for and be measured
Against. The one question remaining would be how would this possibly be accomplished?
Again by example: For this specific example some proven methods to undertake would be – contact all current customers and check in with them – see if there is anything they need – make an offer for additional items, add-ons – consider a discount for future purposes if the sales were executed now – explore requesting three referrals from each of the current customers – contact former customers as well.
Become A Better Leader
A personal growth fourth (4th) quarter goal. Have to love these!
What is your plan to accomplish this one in three months? Becoming a better leader is a process not an event.
Here are some ideas to get started: Create two columns – Up at the top define the type of leader you intend to be – note a name or two of real people who represent this type of leader to you. For the two columns – the one on the left list with one or two word descriptions the areas you know you are strong in and for the column on the right the areas you are not strong in. Now circle or highlight three specific items you intend to improve on in next three months.
Give without an expectation of a return to self
People give lip service to servant leadership. Well my friends – this is where it starts. Give first and expect nothing in return. Here is something you may not realize. Once you regularly partake and conduct yourself in this manner, the first two items on this list will begin to take traction even faster than you might have expected.
Bottomline – Try it out and let me know how you make out.
