Last week I returned from attending a special event in Orlando, FL.
It was my first time back to this event, in person, since August 2018. Prior to that I’ve attended every one of these events since they began in 2011.
This event was attended by over 3,000 people from all over the world. Really there is nothing like attending an event live and in person. The best word to describe the energy you feel is – electric!
This is especially so when you’re surrounded by like minded people all interested in personal and business growth. These are action takers of all ages and walks of life experience.
One of the speakers was Don Yaeger.
You may know him from Sports Illustrated or from one of his numerous New York Times Best Selling books. Don spoke about the mindset of Greatness. The stories he told were intense and yet fun at the same time.
Many of the stories were emotional even for Don as he told them.
He spoke about Michael Jordan, Walter Payton and Warrick Dunn to name just a few.
One of the key messages that really struck home for me – “A moment in your life – where something happens – you have a choice – you can be bitter or you can be better.”
Don also spoke about John Wooden likening him as close to a real mentor for him.
One of the many quotes from John Wooden he mentioned was –“You will never outperform your inner circle. Always improve your inner circle. It’s your responsibility to do it.”
There are many people who dislike sports and don’t understand the life lessons in playing sports, being a fan of sports and studying the personalities within all sports.
I feel sorry for them as they’re really missing out.
Why not go right to the comments and share a story of a sports figure that has had an impact on you.

Do you know I’m interviewing stroke survivors, their spouse or partner as well?
The purpose is to compile these stories in order to share the information with others. The stories will inspire others, help them with tips for handling what they are going through now and what they may face in the future. It may even become a go to resource for stroke survivors and their families.
