Yes, the choice is yours!
This is good news and it gets even better. You may determine it is time to change course when you may decide to do so. The cautionary note here is think these choices through – be strategic – think of the big picture.
When you think about the business you’re in or starting out on a new venture what is your intention? Will this be a long lasting “I want to change the world!” impact you intend to have?
Will you have a product or a service which is going to add value to other businesses or people on a regular basis rather than impact society and the world in a big way?
Will you create a business strictly based upon a quick earning strategy where everything is based upon earning the next dollar.
These are three options, of course, there are a number of other options to consider.
Change the world
Recently while touring historical sites in Italy it seemed as if each step we took brought us another insight into what the Romans understood. How they have made an impact on the world and so much that we don’t even think about which are part of our daily lives.
For example – The importance of running water for drinking, bathing, spas and sewage. They had created lead pipes for water to travel right into their hole living areas. Do you know the Latin word for lead? Well this is why we have the word ‘plumber’. This advancement in the utilization of water and pipes certainly impacted many people with long lasting future use. Meanwhile the fact that the lead in their pipes was killing them they did not realize.
A more current example is Steve Jobs and Apple has done to impact and change the world. Most people are familiar with this impact today.
Will this be your choice to have a long lasting impact on the world?
Product or service for business or people and their needs
People work for a company and they need to eat. People enjoy going out for a nice meal for business or with family or friends. The options available are endless. Would your area of interest be to open and run a restaurant? There are a number of people who have jumped into this business and then once they started they realized how much is involved in running a restaurant.
Will you choose to provide something needed and wanted on a regular basis?
Earn a quick buck
If you have been to a Major League Baseball game in New York City or Boston you will see outside the stadium vendors selling all types of items. After a game there are people selling bottles of water for one dollar. Most people know they can purchase a case of water at Costco for few dollars. Now here instead is one bottle for one dollar. It is ice cold though. Now consider inside the stadium these bottles of water cost five dollars a bottle. Another example is at the World Series Champion parade in Boston there were vendors selling the Championship hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and more all for a quick buck.
Will you choose to be in a business built to earn a quick buck?
As stated earlier there are numerous other options and choices. These examples are simply to get the conversation started with you. Maybe get you to think about some choices.
There is no correct answer for it is your choice. There is something important you really must consider before anything you do choose – be strategic and think of the big picture.
