Here are some interesting items to take note of in case you are unaware of International Women’s Day celebrated each year on March 8.
The first National Women’s Day was in 1909 in the United States.
The main focus initially was to have voting rights and better pay for women.
Today the goal is to celebrate women across the globe and to provide motivation and inspiration by sharing stories of success by women around the world with a broad audience of cultures, ages and levels of education (and to continue with the initial focus).
“We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already” -J.K. Rowling
Who are the women that have inspired you with their stories?
Who are the women today that you find inspiring?
Who will you share these thoughts and feelings with today?
Go to the comments section for this article right now and type out your responses to these three questions. Then come right back here.
For this celebration to have lasting impact and real meaning everyone involved must share their stories. Share their stories not only with young girls – with young boys as well!
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” -Maya Angelou
It will be the stories which will be remembered.
My goal in speaking with various audiences is to add value to each and every person there. They each may not remember me, they will recall my stories.
Tell the stories, share your feelings about women who inspired you and who inspire you today. It will be the way to create lasting impact. Otherwise the day being celebrated becomes another day being celebrated similar to any other day. It may as well be International Donut Day. It might be International Ice Cream Day. Instead take the opportunity to give real meaning to this day and utilize the platform to inspire and motivate the youth of this world female or male to recognize the amazing feats women have done and continue to do.
For some in the business community it is really time to recognize certain facts which may be supported easily through a few easy searches online through Google.
- When a publicly traded company has three or more women on their Board of Directors their stock performance outperforms the publicly traded companies which do not.
- When women are largely represented in senior level roles in a company there is more stability in the company and less turnover.
- When a company commits to a women’s initiative on a level similar or more to other initiatives there is a measurable ROI in a fairly rapid time frame (meaning actions not only words).
Everyone has a stake in this celebration – do your part in some way.

Two women who have provided inspiration to me are:
My Mom – Mae Tublin – who raised me and my brother and worked and had a career.
In our lives through family tragic events and her personal battle with cancer for over
fifteen years she taught me the value of love, the value of family, the value of fighting
and never giving up.
My wife – Dr. Patty Ann Tublin – who raised our four children together with me while
building and working in her professional practice. She has jumped and built her wings
on the way to flying and soaring with eagles. She now is a regular in the media in CT
as well as Empowering Women all over the world with her message. She has shown me
how if you really want to do something, if you really want to make something change
if your really are serious, there is nothing stopping you.
