What’s your big finish plan?
I’m talking about the months that we are all in now – the last four months of the year!
Without it you’ll be out trick-or-treating before you know it.
Can anyone say – Spiced Pumpkin Latte?
Regardless of how you financially report, the majority of the people we come into contact with feel and know the importance of finishing the year strong.
This may mean new clients, adding more value to existing clients and potentially new business streams of income.
And more…
What is important now, as it always is, not to overwhelm and overload ourselves, our teams and our employees.
What are a few realistic goals we may be able to set up to achieve in the next 3 ½ months?
Not layup goals – easy, breezy those!
Potentially three to five SMART goals and two or three stretch goals.
The SMART goals we’ve gone over numerous times.
These are goals which are –
S – SPECIFIC
M – MEASURABLE
A – ATTAINABLE
R – REALISTIC
T – TIMELY
There are other variations of these, however, these will be just fine for us.
The three to five SMART goals are the ones you and your team will spend most of your time and effort on in addition to what you are doing everyday right now.
The two or three stretch goals are meant to be a reach.
This means the R – realistic and the T – timely have a bit more leeway in them.
However, it’s not spinning your wheels or wasting anyone’s time to be working on these. All of the effort and time spent will create momentum going into next year for these specific goals.
A very worthwhile endeavor indeed!
If there is one single thing you take away from this article – it’s the importance and the urgency to immediately set up a plan with goals in mind, action steps and accountability for the next three to four months.
One goal, two goals, three goals or more it’s up to you – just get going and do it. Don’t make it a whole production on the planning and what exact goal blah, blah, blah. Just get it down, agree and get started – yesterday – so right away.
