Who knows what hit me?
One day recently while at the NJ Shore the birds of all types were looking around for their people food. You know what the birds are looking for right? Bags of Doritos left out on a beach blanket. Any type of chips left unguarded by a beach chair.
The birds would stalk around the area. They look to see if there was anyone around or at least not paying any attention to the target bag. Then quickly when the moment was right – go in for the kill!
Grab the bag and quickly walk off with it.
While watching this scene it hit me – why not be one of those birds! Yes, that’s the ticket! Strut along like one of those birds. Make the sounds.
Oh yeah, got this!
Now the image may be funny – go ahead make your comments below in the comments area. It is clear – not really a bird – not close!
Now this was all in good fun of course.
It is not really funny at all when people are trying to be something they are not when in their business. Why they are doing this – a whole other article or a book on that topic.
My point today is – Just Don’t Do It!
People may think it is so easy to role play and act the part. Here is the honest truth… The truth is – Not Authentic! People are able to sense that it is not real or something is just off. The time and effort it takes to be fake – why go there? The time and effort is much better off spent networking and connecting with people as your authentic self. No matter who we are or what we do – we must first be true to ourselves and who we really are and what our values are.
These actions alone are attractions to people. When people come into contact with a self assured person who is comfortable in their own skin and has values they believe and live by other people take comfort in this and can sense it.
Our time on this earth is way to short to not be true to ourselves. There is no reason try to fake out anyone. Understand this usually does not work. It will always catch up to the person who selects this path for whatever reason.
Are you the type of person who is faking it?
Are you a person who is ready to own their true self?
