Are You Prepared?

“Preparedness is the ultimate confidence builder.”
– Vince Lombardi

Are You Prepared?

The experience of this time is a once in a lifetime event.

Or is it?

Is it possible something similar or different with an impact this severe or worse may happen again and soon? Of course no one wants this to happen.

However, what if it did?

What lessons or take-aways do any of us have to be more prepared for the next time?

Go to the comments area now and note some of the lessons you have learned.

“By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail.”
– Ben Franklin

This is why aboard ships there are drills for specific emergencies.

Everyone working on a ship has been trained for fire emergencies of all different types of fires.  At sea you cannot just call up the fire department. You are the fire department.

There are man overboard drills. Everyone is trained to toss life rings overboard in the direction of the person who went over or the last known sighting in order to conduct a retrace of the ship’s course in the opposite direction.

There are drills for abandon ship. The reason is simply to be ready if you need to do this it won’t be the first time.

“The future belongs to those who prepare for it.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Being prepared is just the smart thing to do. It is not being a pessimist or a worrier. What are the areas you will be focused on so you are better prepared in the future?

Your home?

Your family?

Your business?

Your health?

Better training for you, your family, your team?

Are there more you want to add to this list?

Wishing won’t keep you safe, preparedness will.

What can you start working on now that is on this list? Isn’t this the perfect time? Right now you are in the middle of it.

Create your own list and how you will prepare for a future event. Then begin taking the steps necessary to be better prepared. There is no time like the present to do this – get started now.

Be safe, be calm, stay strong,

Mitch
