In case you have just come out from living in a cave for the last six or eight months … or possibly you sailed back from a remote island in the Pacific where you spent many months on end without any internet or cable … on Monday, August 21, 2017 there will be a Full Solar Eclipse traversing North America for viewing with the cooperation of the weather.
There are concerts, parties, running races and even special train rides and jets in the air on special flights to view this unique event. Hotels have been booked for a long time in various cities with prime viewing for the couple of minutes of the Full Eclipse. This is an act of Nature and Science. Some wonder if it represents something more.
Here is my question to you – are you so comfortable in doing what you do that you don’t even see it coming and the next thing you know YOU are being eclipsed by your COMPETITION?
This may happen anywhere and in any field.
It might take place in the workplace. It might take place on the field in a sports environment. It might take place in the retail industry. It might take place in a service provider type of business. In fact, you might come up with a few examples in each of these areas right now that it has been pointed out to you.
Hey, look we are all busy in our lives, we get it. The daily routine becomes the weekly routine. Then the weekly routine becomes the monthly routine. Before you know it years are rolling by and you might still be staring at your smart phone. Certainly the word smart was never intended to describe the person always looking at it.
This is why it is critical to make these three tips part of your routine no matter what!
- Invest in yourself and your personal growth. This may take the form of a training, taking a course or participating in Mastermind Group – whatever you feel will challenge you and stretch you a little bit out of your traditional comfort zone.
- Make a choice and decide what is really important in your life. No one should have 100% of their time, energy and focus on their business and their career. It is not healthy. In fact, the majority of employers would not want their employees to be a person who has 100% of their time, energy and focus on their business and career.
- Get out and network – meet with people face-to-face. Sure you might do some of your networking online. It is not enough! You must go out and meet people. Talk with people and engage in conversations. See how you might help them with what they are seeking.
Here are the facts. Follow through and conduct yourself along with a commitment to these three tips. You will never be eclipsed!

This is a great reminder! It’s important to take time for yourself and enjoy life. Many of us get too caught up in working: finding the next client, completing the next project, closing the next deal… I do it myself. 🙂
However, work isn’t everything; and always working (or thinking about work) isn’t healthy for our relationships or our bodies.
Find that place inside you where anything is possible. Live there.
